A young family with an extensive collection of art wished to transform their three-story Victorian to accommodate their modern lifestyle. Reconfigured walls, modern millwork, and carefully selected materials and lighting give the kitchen greatly improved function and prominence. A compact powder room was added next to the kitchen. Upstairs, an awkward bedroom was turned into a master suite comprising a new bathroom, storage cabinetry, and several closets. The existing hall bath, previously shared by the family, was reconfigured and given a modern aesthetic.
