After finding success in their original Mission District location, Coffee Bar wished to have a presence in downtown San Francisco. One of the driving goals was to provide an artisan, slow food, experience on pace with the Financial District. Materials were kept to a minimum so as to not overwhelm the space. Concrete rises up from the floor. Standard 4x8 sheets of plywood drape from the ceiling forming a proscenium. These two main materials meet at the counters, drawing the eye to the artistry of the baristas.
